Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 HR/Day, Range between 7am-7pm
A nationally ranked, inclusive healthcare system and one of the largest in Georgia, dedicated to providing exceptional care is seeking a Scheduler with Epic Experience to join the team and help ensure a seamless patient experience.
In this role, the Scheduler will accurately schedule patient appointments following established protocols, provide outstanding customer service, and manage high call volumes efficiently. While reporting to the satellite manager, the Scheduler will play a key role in supporting a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
What Your Day Looks Like:
Patient/Family-Centered Care Standards
- Demonstrates dignity and respect for patients and families by considering their knowledge, values, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds in the planning and delivery of care.
- Provides clear, timely, and accurate information to patients and families to support effective participation in care and decision-making.
- Encourages patient and family involvement in the care process and decision-making.
Customer Service Excellence
- Maintains strict adherence to customer service guidelines, ensuring excellent customer service scores.
- Manages appointment requests via phone and fax, addressing patient and referring physician needs efficiently and courteously.
Scheduling Protocols
- Accurately schedules patient appointments following physician/departmental protocols to best fit patient schedules.
- Interacts with referral sources and exercises independent judgment to determine the appropriate sub-specialty required based on diagnoses, symptoms, and other information provided by referring providers.
Administrative Compliance
- Adheres to APAS and Health System policies, including scheduling registration, insurance accuracy, balance collection, and demographic information gathering.
- Ensures all administrative policies and procedures are implemented and followed under the direction of the Practice Administrator.
Attendance and Availability
- Maintains compliance with the attendance policy, adhering to set schedules with minimal attendance issues.
- This essential role requires availability during inclement weather to ensure continuous patient scheduling operations
Other Duties as Assigned
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Epic experience a must.
- Minimum of 2 years in a medical office, healthcare, or related setting.
- Proficient in customer service, basic computer skills, and MS Office.
- Keypunch speed of at least 35 words per minute.
- Working knowledge of information systems, insurance processes, and medical terminology.
- Ability to manage high call volumes through a multi-line phone system effectively.
- All required certifications must be obtained upon hire unless otherwise stated.
