The New Year typically brings health and wellness goals to the forefront of people’s minds, so it’s certainly been a busy time for former Parker Staffing contractor, Dasia Altheimer, who just converted from contractor into a fulltime employee at Healthways in Bellevue. As an Engagement Specialist, Dasia provides support and guidance to potential and existing members of Heathways through positive communication via phone.
Luckily, we were able to snag a few minutes of Dasia’s time to ask her a few questions about her role and what she’s enjoyed most about it. It’s our hope that by having Dasia share her experience in a customer service/call center environment, it will give other customer service professionals in the Seattle area inspiration as they look ahead to the future of their careers.
// Hello Dasia! Thanks for chatting with us. Let’s start by talking a bit about your work environment at Healthways. What is your favorite thing about your current job?
My favorite thing about my current job has to be my co-workers (including my manager). I work with nothing but positive, supportive and friendly people who come to work just as excited as I do each and every day.
// We love hearing that you’re in such a positive environment. Speaking of positive, what has been your most positive experience at your job so far?
The most positive experience I’ve had at my job so far is when the whole office I work in went to buy gifts at Target for underprivileged children. We all went to Target in groups, we were given a card with a child’s name, their want/need for Christmas and a budget to stay within.
// What a wonderful way to give back around the holiday season. That must’ve been a really fun experience for you and your coworkers. Now, let’s look back to all those months ago when you started your job search, how did you discover Parker as a resource?
I discovered Parker on Craigslist.com in the Job posting section.
// Great! We do love to utilize Craigslist, as well as many other job boards, when searching for stellar professionals like you! Also, congratulations on recently accepting a fulltime role with Healthways! Since you’re in a place that many of our contractors would like to be in eventually, what advice would you have for someone who is taking on their first contract role?
The advice I would like to give someone who is taking on their first contract role, is to take the job seriously. Try getting involved in the company you work for. Make friends with your co-workers. Come to work every day with a smile and positive attitude. You never know if your contract position can turn into a permanent one.
// That is awesome advice. Positive attitude and involvement are two great ways to make yourself stand out above the rest when permanent positions become available. Okay, enough of the work-related questions, let’s have a little fun with our lightning round:
Star Wars/Star Trek? Star Wars
A relaxing vacation or an adventure getaway? Relaxing vacation
A home in the city or the country? A home in the city
Starbucks or independent? Starbucks
Thanks for taking the time to speak with us today, Dasia. We wish you the best of luck in your new, permanent position at Healthways!
