As a Small Business Loan Specialist, you'll be the go-to person for entrepreneurs and small business owners looking for financial guidance and support. You'll be a critical member of a collaborative team that is responsible for ensuring small business loans are process, closed, and quality-checked accurately. 

Responsibilities include tasks within multiple workflows and systems, including maintenance of operational controls that satisfy company policies, procedures, and regulations.  
  

WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?  

  • Process, document, close and provide quality control assistance on our Small Business Express product that are generated by our Business Banking branches 

  • Facilitate consistent and clear communication between our branches and our internal teams to ensure seamless operations 

  • Complete LaserPro loan documents in support of our Small Business Express products 

  • Accurately execute maintenance of loan files, including documentation and record-keeping in accordance with regulations and organizational standards 

  • Serve as a key resource for teammates and other departments, providing guidance and information on small business and SBA lending 

  • Oversee the efficient and accurate processing of small business and SBA requisitions and related tasks 

  • Handle complex quality control issues and situations, providing solutions that align with policy and regulatory requirements 

  • Follow established processes and standards to comply with relevant regulations and company policies 

  • Stay current with industry trends, SBA regulations, and bond lending best practices through continuous education, training, and professional development opportunities as provided by the department and bank 

  • Adhere to and ensure adherence to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations. To that end, ensure timely and accurate preparation of Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports and other recordkeeping requirements 

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned 

  

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?  

  • 1-3+ years of experience in: 
    • Commercial or consumer loan processing, closing or underwriting. 
    • Banking or Financial services. 
    • Experience working with loan documentation systems and workflow tools is also valuable. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple loans and processes at once 
  • Knowledge of bank policies, regulations, and compliance requirements 
  • Understanding of loan documentation, funding, closing, and quality control
